
Senior Database Administrator
Published 11 of AugustOverview: The Database team owns the relational and NoSQL database infrastructure that powers Euronet's payment processing and financial technology platforms across multiple regions. You'll architect high-availability database clusters, drive performance optimization at scale, lead disaster recovery planning, automate database operations, and partner with engineering teams on data modeling and schema evolution.
Responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, and maintain production database environments across MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server
• Architect and operate high-availability solutions: replication topologies, clustering, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, and automated failover.
• Drive performance at scale: query optimization, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, and capacity planning.
• Own backup and disaster recovery: PITR, automated backup pipelines, restore testing, and RTO/RPO compliance.
• Plan and execute platform upgrades: major version migrations, OS patching, and zero-downtime rollouts.
• Implement security best practices: role-based access, encryption at rest and in transit, audit logging, and compliance hardening.
• Build and maintain observability: database monitoring dashboards, alerting thresholds, and anomaly detection.
• Automate repetitive DBA tasks using scripting and Infrastructure as Code.
• Collaborate with development teams on schema design reviews, migration strategies, and performance troubleshooting.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for database-related issues.
• Manage and operate containerized MySQL database environments using Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and lifecycle management.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
- P4 - 7+ years of experience in database administration, systems engineering, or related IT role🎓
Experience & Mandatory Knowledges:
- Production experience with Linux and Windows server environments.
- Hands-on experience with MySQL/MariaDB and/or PostgreSQL in production.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration Strong SQL proficiency: DDL/DML, complex joins, stored procedures, transactions, and CTEs.
- Proven experience with backup and recovery strategies (PITR, logical/physical backups).
- Scripting skills for automation (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
